Uncle Sal’s is always working to deliver the very best dining experience to our guests. Over the years, we have focused on staying true to the culinary delights that have made us a valley favorite, but we also understand that many of our guests have dietary restrictions.

Our culinary staff is always looking for new ways to accommodate our guests requests while staying true to the Uncle Sal’s Italian Restaurant experience. This section of our website was created to provide the latest information regarding Uncle Sal’s quest to accommodate each and every one of our guests.

Menu Solutions

It’s now estimated that one in every 133 Americans has celiac disease, an immune response to the gluten found in Wheat, Barley, and Rye. For celiac sufferers, eating gluten-filled foods can damage intestines and affect nutrient absorption.

Uncle Sal’s staff can assist in defining what is available to our guests who have dietary needs or the requirements of controlling celiac disease. This special menu has been assembled with The Mayo Clinic’s outline on what their definition of gluten-free diet is; as “What’s allowed, & What’s Not”.

This, of course, is an outline and everyone’s needs differ. So as advised, communication is key in achieving your goal of a healthy & satisfying meal.

Tips

Tips to providing healthful options to your dietary needs;

  • If possible, check with the establishment before you visit. Ask whether they offer gluten-free options or can adjust to provide a gluten-free meal. Typically, the restaurant can provide helpful options.
  • Communication can not be stressed enough. Knowing that the establishment has options, express to your server clearly what your restrictions are. Upon addressing this matter, you will find how dedicated servers, chefs, and managers of the establishment are to preparing a safe and delicious meal. Never take the risk, always take the time to ask and explain your requirements.
  • Order sensibly. Stick with familiar entrees unless you know your choice can be prepared to assist with your needs.
  • Communication on sauces, marinades, and thickeners needs to be addressed. Only if it is pre-determined that these are within your dietary requirements should you move forward. If not sure, asking for your sauce on the side is a simple and easy way to prevent problems.
  • You can order wine or Champagne, which are made from grapes. Most beer products are off limits, unless it is designed to be gluten-free. Otherwise most alcoholic beverages are gluten-free.
  • Dessert, choices become limited too (Ice Cream or sorbet,). Communication with your server will assist in your choices.

Our Sauces & Soups:

Our soups & sauces are balanced with natural ingredients. Please check with your server for the soup of the day as; they vary and can change without notice through your meal period.
